A new Velux commercial production kicked off 2012 at Minerva Film. Shooting a dog, a cat and a parrot proved quite an interesting challenge for producer Mikael Windelin and agency Kong. January also included helping pharmaceutical company MSD and agency Mantra in a kickoff event at the newly opened Bella Sky hotel. With 17 cameras all employees tried the difficult challenge of producing a film in 3 hours resulting in a big award show later that evening.
Minerva Film postproduction has continued the work on features and documentaries from Afghanistan, Sweden and Denmark for TV and theatrical releases in the early months of 2012.
The feature film “10 timer til paradis” directed by Mads Matthiesen and co-financed by Minerva Film is in competition at the Sundance Festival. We are proud of having made a contribution to a very fine film.
29/11-2011 LEGO LEGO LEGO
Minerva Film has just finished and delivered 5 LEGO TV commercials for agency Advance.
Zdenko Santini has directed the latest parts of the Hero Factory series and Christian Faber directed three spots for a new still secret line from the world renowned toy company.
All the spots will be on air en the beginning of 2012 so watch out for jailbreaks and girls on café on TV and on this website.

Congratulations to Magic Hour Films!
Last night Lise Lense-Møller and Anders Østergaard received the 'Special Jury Commendation Puma Creative Impact Award' at the PUMA Creative Impact Award ceremony in London - for film that have made a difference.
Burma VJ have now been seen of over 30 mill. people.

Pelle Folmer is new as post producer at Minerva Film. Pelle has extensive experience in handling laboratory work and restoration and completes our team on documentaries and feature films whether new or vintage for restoration. Pelle is already in the middle of three larger restoration jobs from Norway “Fante Anne” 1920, "Med Maud over Polhavet (Roald Amundsen)" (1926) and "Polflukten med ”Norge (Roald Amundsen)" (1926) all for the National Library in Oslo.
7/4-2011 Over 2.200 working hours, 117.000 frames and 1.287.000 brush strokes
That was the resources used for restoring the Carl Th Dreyer classic from 1925 Du skal Ære Din Hustru (Master of the House).
Palladium A/S has just released a box set with four Carl Th Dreyer classics. Minerva Film undertook the task of cleaning the most heavily damaged film in the collection Du skal Ære Din Hustru (Master of the House).
After an initial automatic removal of dust and scratches the Minerva crew went through the whole film frame by frame removing all the leftover dust, bad splices and large scratches that the automation was not able to remove, using semi automatic motion estimated paint tools. The automation and advanced paint tools in our Phoenix restoration tool proved its worth by giving a result beyond the expectations of the client.
16/2-2011 New commercial productions at Minerva Film
December 2010 and January 2011 turned out extremely busy at Minerva Film.
In the weeks before Christmas Simon Ladefoged directed two spots for Lauritz Knudsen/Schneider Electric and agency VCA plus Asko Vølund for Lysholm Reklamebureau all produced by Allan Stenild.
Jesper Emborg directed a new corporate identity film for Widex produced by Mikael Windelin and Sidney Plaut shot a new Lacotcare spot for Living Brands.
2011 started out with a new TV campaign for Velux directed by Joachim Nielsen for Kong Advertising and Bad&Design directed by Mathias Hovgaard for agency Brandhouse, Mikael Windelin and Allan Stenild produced.
Watch out for all these spots on TV and our website in the coming weeks, and more are in the pipeline.

25/1-2011 North Americans Prepare For Eternity
Michael Madsen''s (photo) documentary film Into Eternity produced by Denmark''s Magic Hour Films with support from Minerva Film was acquired for North American theatrical distribution by International Film Circuit. The deal was brokered by International Film Circuit''s Wendy Lidell and Diana Holtzberg, VP of sales company Films Transit. "Into Eternity raises one of the most important issues of our day in a way that is both less confrontational and more convincing than any mere work of advocacy journalism," said Lidell. The film''s opening at New York''s Film Forum on February 2nd will be followed by a national rollout in the US.
15/11-2010 More awards to Magic Hour Films
At the CPH:DOX festival Empire North directed by Jakob Boeskov, produced by Magic Hour Films and post produced at Minerva Film brought home the DANISH:DOX AWARD.
The jury emphasised the fact that the film had made a strong impression on all the jury members Z not least for its strong personal and aesthetic expression. ZIt is both fascinating and repulsive, absorbing and uncomfortable, compelling and annoyingZ, the jury said about the film.

University of Copenhagen has launched a web TV series about the life of 4 students. Over the next 22 weeks Minerva Film produces four weekly episodes showing all the different aspects of life as a student. With the their own recordings Naram, Jonas, Trine and Christian shows us how they balance life as a university student with an active life with parties, jobs, volountary work and family. 30/9-2010 International awards to films supported by Minerva Film
Michael Madsens Into Eternity produced by Magic Hour Films and post produced and co financed by Minerva Film won the Nordic Panorama main prize. Congratulations Michael we are looking forward to following your film around the world.
Only a few weeks ago another film post produced and co financed by Minerva Film My Good Enemy directed by Oliver Ussing and produced by Bullitt film won two awards at the LUCAS – Internationales Kinderfilmfestival in Frankfurt, Germany. Oliver brought home the CIFEJ and Special Mention and we are sure there will be more to come for him in the future. Go get‘em Oliver!

1/8-2010 New faces at Minerva Film
August 1st Lise Augustenborg Skaarup started as Post Production Producer at Minerva Film with special responsibility for our adaptations. Lise has a Master Degree in Theatre, Film and Media and a background among others from Ghost and Sanzabo as a project manager.
From the beginning of September Nikoline Gislason will complete the team as Post Producer covering for Lena Bakholm who will be on maternity leave. Nikoline has previously worked with Minerva Film, Funk Film and Moland Film. Please welcome both, we promise they will take good care of your projects at Minerva Film.

1/5-2010 My Good Enemy now in the cinemas
Min Bedste Fjende (My Good Enemy) opens in Danish cinemas June 3rd. Director Oliver Ussing’s feature film post produced and co financed by Minerva Film tells the story about two boys tired of being bullied and now trying to change the rules of the game and get to the top of the hierarchy. Congratulations to Oliver and Bullit Film for a great story and a film every teenage bully ought to see.

Two documentaries post produced at Minerva Film compete at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto.
Saskia Bisps "Nobody Passes Perfectly" produced by Bullit Film and Michael Madsens "Into Eternity" produced by Magic Hour Films and co financed by Minerva has been selected for the main competition.
Madsens “Into Eternity” brought home the Grand Prix at last weeks Visons du Réel in Nyon in Switzerland. We are proud to have contributed to these great docs.
13/4-2010 Official premiere for Minerva Films documentary “THERESIENSTADT Danish Children in Nazy Captivity”
In Dagmar cinema situated in the former Gestapo headquarters in Copenhagen the audience applauded a film portraying 6 survivors of the concentration camp Theresienstadt during WWII. Commissioned by Diis, Minerva Film has produced a thought-provoking film directed by Suvi Helminen. The film will now be available for schools and others on www.theresienstadt.dk
Into Eternity directed by Michael Madsen and coproduced by Minerva Film is among 12 non-fiction films competing for Best Documentary Film and Best New Documentary Filmmaker at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

Minerva Film congratulates Magic Hour Films and director Anders Østergaard with the Academy Award Nomination. For the first time since Minerva Film''s own "A City Called Copenhagen" By Jørgen Roos in 1961 a Danish documentary is among the last five in the run for the Oscar.Minerva Film is proud to have contributed with the post production to a beautiful and mind-blowing film.

12/1-2010 Great succes for Michael Madsen's "Into Eternity"
Michael Madsen’s documentary about nuclear waste in Finland is having a huge success in Danish cinemas across the country. The press loves the film and apparently the audience too. The screening period has been prolonged to meet the demands.
Minerva Film did the postproduction and co-financed the film which we are very proud of.

23/11-2009 New campaigns for Canal Digital and Posten produced by Minerva Film
Snowmen flying in from the sky with your Christmas mail will now go across the television screens of Denmark. Simon Ladefoged directed the TV spot for Minerva Film and agency Bates creative lead Peder Schack.
Bates and Canal Digital also chose Minerva Film for their Christmas HD package campaign with a cosy white Christmas spot with all the digital content you could want.
11/11-2009 Who owns the North Pole and how do you communicate 100.000 years into the future?
Director Suvi Helmines documentary “Turf War in no Mans Land” explores the first question. Minerva Film supported the project and did on-line, color correction and delivery.
In Michael Madsens “Into Eternity” produced by Magic Hour Film and co-financed by Minerva Film the question of how to keep the worlds nuclear waste safe for future generations is investigated in a poetic and thought-provoking film. Minerva Film did a full post production package. Into Eternity won the Audience Award at CPH:DOX 2009
3/10-2009 Oprah and Obama also watched our film about Denmark
In collaboration with VisitDenmark Minerva Film produced a 90 sec image film about Denmark that was shown at the 121st IOC congress in Copenhagen October 2nd.
The film was streamed worldwide and was seen by approx. 1.6 billion people.

Lurpak butter enters the Polish market with a spot directed by Simon Ladefoged and produced by Minerva Film. Simultaneously Minerva Film has produced an animated supermarket for TV spot and 10 cooking lessons for the launch of Kærgården Steg & Bag in Denmark. Minerva Film is currently delivering another three international commercials to LEGO. In the extremely successful Power Miners series Martin Haagensen directed the introduction of a new powerful machine for our heroes. Christian Faber and Jan Kjær directed two spots in the Bionicle tale continuing the quest for the golden mask. Advance has once again been lead agency.

Feature film "Lede Kryb" produced by Bullit Film, directed by Oliver Ussing and supported by Minerva Film started principal photography today. The film shot on 2perf 35mm film will be posted at Minerva Film later this year. We are looking forward to working on an exiting production.

BURMA VJ, the acclaimed new documentary from Anders Østergaard that took top honors in Copenhagen two weeks ago, was awarded the Joris Ivens prize at this year''s IDFA in Amsterdam. In addition to the top prize, it also won the Movies That Matter award - the best documentary on human rights and dignity. Once again we are proud to have participated to a success.

1/11-2008 Are you afraid of sharing towels with an HIV positive?
Minerva Film and agency Bocca has produced a "Candid Camera" film for The Danish National Board of Health. The challenge was to illustrate the many prejudices people still have against HIV, despite the massive amount of information they have received through the years. We created a set on a public toilet in Copenhagen. 2 towels were hung on the wall, one with the text "Used by NON HIV positive" and one with the text "Used by HIV positive" the result was thought-provoking.

Minerva Film and agency Hello Group produced a film to help launch the new web site "MY HOME" (MIN BOLIG) Client was "Elsparefonden" All work, including shooting in our studio, was done in-house, which made it possible to deliver with very short notice, less than a week from receiving the order from Hello Group to launch on the website.

20/7-2008 RED digital at Minerva Film
A strong workflow yields superior results.
We have recently completed several productions shot with the RED digital camera. To complete these jobs we have developed a strong workflow where we can offline on our avid media composer systems, and finish in our filmmaster grading theatre or our Flame/Avid DS systems.
The workflow is very much like a traditional film workflow and the timeframe is about the same as a production shot on 35mm film. We find that the RED camera produces good results and our clients on the jobs we have completed, are very excited about the image quality the RED camera delivers. We will be happy to answer any technical/workflow or quality related questions you might have, if you are considering shooting with the RED camera.

In collaboration with Bates Y&R Copenhagen and art director Peder Schack Minerva Film has produced a follow up to the popular talking/singing bread commercials. Minerva Films creative Director Rune Holm and lead 3D artist Jonas Ussing are responsible for the outcome with producer Allan Stenild.
28/3-2008 Minerva Film Producer Stig Weiss wins three Creative Circle awards.
At the Creative Circle Award show March 28th in Copenhagen Minerva Film producer Stig Weiss was awarded three awards for the Fakta campaign directed by Jan Gleie. Stig and Jan are currently in production with the next TVC’s in the series working with agency Uncle Grey. Minerva Film congratulates Stig, Jan and Uncle for an extremely successful campaign.

Minerva Film has for TBWA Copenhagen produced 3 new commercials for Totalkredit, all directed by Charlotte Sachs Bostrup.

Minerva Film has for EURO RSCG produced several complete flash websites for Jabra including film clips, 3D animation and music composition by our inhouse sound designer Dennis Lee.

25/2-2008 Shooting on Arri D20
As the first company in Denmark, Minerva Film has shot a commercial on Arri D20 digital film camera.
DOP Kim Hattesen explains: This is the most optimal digital film camera and best alternative to traditional film so far.
The TVC is currently in postproduction under supervision of our Technical Director Rune Holm and Lead 3D artist Jonas Ussing.
The TVC is for Arla/Kærgaarden and can be seen on TV (and this website) from this spring.
28/1-2008 Nucoda Film Master
We are proud to announce that our new grading theatre is now ready for its first jobs. We have built our grading theatre around the Nucoda Film Master system. The Film Master system is an extremely versatile colour grader offering both primary and unlimited secondary correction of colours, tracking of shapes for object isolation, and a very strong online workflow. Unique to the Film Master is the state-of-the-art noise and grain reduction and automatic dust and scratch concealment.
